I see these gas log fires and dream of owning one.
We have a large heat pump so would only use this on weekends or some evenings. We are thinking of putting a gas cook top in so perhaps a fire could go in at the same time.
I'd be interested in others thoughts on these fires.
You know I'm mad on our fire but it is messy!
I don't have much experience with fires but the gas one looks fine. Does it make you feel the same as a real one when you sit in front of it?
ReplyDeleteI don't know much (anything) about them... would be hard for me to leave our wood burner behind, especially as we can get free wood. We're not on mains gas either - would it use LPG?
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty good though.
I just think they look fantastic, that's all I know. I also think though, you can't go wrong with gas cooking, I love (and miss) it so very much!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, we use bottle gas here in our holiday home for our hob and cooker, we don't notice much difference from the mains gas, just a little less stronger flow, but still does the same job.
ReplyDeleteWe have also had open gas fires, not with logs, but with imitation coal(volcanic rock) they give off great heat, and best of all no cleaning out and resetting.
I say go for it Chris, you will be glad you did!!
I remember when we had real open fires, they were hard to keep clean and we were forever putting coal and logs on.
Don't need all that now at our age !!! :))
