Op shop finds

This week I had such fun catching up with a dear friend, op shopping.  We fantasize about our tea shop and the vintage style decor.  We imagine setting up a cottage with retro fittings. One we can rent to trendy holiday makers!
We laugh about the fact that we are needing to clean out our cupboards yet buy more "stuff". We think of the special people who treasured the objects we pick up and smile at the things that remind us of our Mothers.
In a very busy life, these little outings are so special and I can't wait to do it again.  This gorgeous Denby jug is for a lovely lady I've met through work.  She has Denby ware will love this little treasure.
Jugs are my favorite purchase.
Linen is next.
I wonder what you have found this week?

  1. I love Denby Chris, but a great find for me is the lovely New Zealand pottery I found at an op shop here in Burnie, Temuka pottery, finding it here it saved me bringing it all the way back from NZ, how lucky was that? keep pottering around the op shops who knows what we will find :)

  2. I always think "I must go op shopping", but then never go. That's not to say, however, that I'm shopping new either. Even though I live so close to town I just don't make use of it as much as I could.
I'm grateful for this post, it reminds me I need to get out there and have a look!
I hope your friend falls in love with her jug :)

  5. I had a smile as I read this post...you see I reckon I could stock an entire op shop with my 'stuff'...but I know what you mean about items reminding you of others especially our mums.
