I've been enjoying baking lately, have you?

I've been enjoying baking lately. Have you?
Perhaps you have a great new recipe you would like to share. I'm looking for Christmas ideas for cookie jars.
Think my gifts will be home made this year.

  1. Your cakes look lovely. Your kitchen photo set up looks nice. I have a red mix master like yours. I discovered a Family Circle Winter Special on my desk that has some delicious winter puddings. A simple apple cake pudding was made more interesting by separating the eggs and folding in the whipped whites. I will try it soon. My daughter said she would make some baked things as presents for the rest of us this year. Can't wait. She is a pretty good cook :)

  2. Nothing better than home baked goodies as gifts at Christmas. Shortbread dipped in chocolate would be smashing.

  3. This is a delicious chocolate fudge slice: (from my friend Dendra)

    125 grams dark choc
add to 200 grams butter, soften together in microwave on defrost until nice and runny, remove then
add 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
In another dish put 1 cup sugar, 4 eggs and mix together
Add the choc mixture to the egg/sugar mixture
then add 1 1/2 cups plain flour and 1 cup milk buttons
cook in moderately slow oven for 40 minutes, when cool and you are ready to cut and serve dust with icing sugar.
You will all enjoy it - it is delicious. :) Jude

  5. My girlfriend used to make gourmet rocky road using white chocolate, pistachios and turkish delight jellies...can't remember what else but it was a hit. I also remember Mum making sugar coated peanuts one year and they were a sensation too. One year I tried making Peffernusse and it was a disaster. Pusher biscuits are great for Xmas too...ooh you have given ME ideas now!
