Flowers in winter

These gorgeous flowers arrived on my desk today.
From grateful clients, when really it is I who is grateful for the opportunity to help them sell their home.  It made my day. Orchids and lilies.
How beautiful.

A broken string

My violin is one of my treasured possessions. I've broken a G string and don't have a spare, so it's off to the music shop. Think il invest in a new set and have them fitted and tuned.
I love playing my fiddle. I write tunes and songs and find this such a portable instrument. It's magic to be in a rain forest and make music.  I find it quite a spiritual experience.
Did you know that early cathedrals and churches represented forests.  The large columns soaring up to the arched roof represented giant trees and canopy soaring to heaven.

The Mousetrap

The longest running play of the modern era. Opened in the West End of London in 1952.
Agatha Christie's play has never been produced as a book or film and patrons are asked not to reveal the end of the play.
My dear husband Chris will celebrate a milestone birthday Saturday 25 June and he has no idea until he reads this blog on Saturday that i have purchased two dress Circle tickets to the Mousetrap on September 28,  the evening before we return to Australia from our holiday to Wales, England and Italy.
Happy Birthday Chris xx

Impressionist watercolor

This painting is ready to go off to an exhibition.
The waterfall is in the Western Tiers behind Deloraine.
The exhibition is called wild and wonderful.
It's always great fun to participate in exhibitions and catch up with artist friends.

Shack progress

This weekend the first stage of a deck at the front seemed to take the shack to another level. We all feel quite excited about the result of our months of hard work.  The interior is really comfortable and the outside is looking loved again.  I was busy with curtain making, Margie was on window restoration  and the boys concentrated on the deck. We made time for beautiful beach walks, with fantastic sunsets,  open fires and great meals. No T V but good music as Vince is a professional singer songwriter.  Thanks to Quilt Jude for the Rainbow trout!

A weekend in Hobart

A weekend in Hobart
No 3 son gave me a voucher for my birthday.
After a hectic week we decided to head for Hobart. Arriving late, we booked into our hotel then
Walked on the docks to find a restaurant.  The Blue skies proved a good choice. Our meals were fantastic.  Sunday morning, we decided to check out the farmers market to meet the Gourmet Farmer. We purchased some pork and fennel sausages and free range organic bacon plus some honey, walnuts and bread. Then we visited our eldest son and his family.
Nick made great pizza for lunch and we all had great fun together.  A shocking trip home through heavy rain but feeling so happy to have a weekend of fun and family.  Oh and we did visit a gallery!! Tassie has such seriously good art.

Lifes luxuries

My favourite luxury is soap!  I adore beautiful soap and if and when I have spare money and feel like shopping, it's usually on soap.
My absolute favourite is French or Italian soap.
What are your luxuries?
